This exciting project revitalised a 1970s bungalow that had remained largely unchanged for decades. Originally the client's first home, it was adored for its peaceful location and breathtaking views. After moving to a larger property, they returned 30 years later to retire and revisit those early memories.
The client envisioned a vibrant living space that would serve as both their daily sanctuary and a hub for family gatherings. They desired a bright, open area that would seamlessly link their existing lounge with the garden.
To achieve this, we reconfigured the internal layout and designed a sleek new extension. A striking glazed gable with an ‘infill’ flat roof created a spacious kitchen and dining/living area, complete with bi-fold doors leading to a raised garden terrace. The renovation also included installing a new central heating system and enhancing thermal insulation, boosting both comfort and energy efficiency.
